Dr Prashant Jha is Fellowship Director, School of International Biodesign, AIIMS, India. He trained in family medicine, bioengineering, computer science, innovation management and design. He leads the training and program development activities the School of International Biodesign(SiB). At SiB Dr. Jha trains physicians, engineers, designers, researchers and entrepreneurs in the science and art of innovating low-cost, high-impact medical devices. He has played a key role in initiating medical technology innovation programs at QUT, Australia and Universities of Tokyo and Osaka in Japan.
In 2014 he co-founded the world’s first Medical Innovations journal – BMJ Innovations (innovations.bmj.com) and serves as its editor. The journal publishes innovations in medical devices, diagnostics, assistive technologies, mHealth and systems innovations.
Dr. Jha, with his team, has invented multiple medical devices in areas of pregnancy monitoring, wearables for hypertensives and diabetics, stress urinary incontinence and stroke. He serves as the product evangelist at Brün Health – which is working to commercialize some of these inventions.
